In order to earn a badge all you have to do is:
- Consent to badges and recognition in your IBM.org profile (Profile & Settings).
- Perform volunteer work and record the hours on the new IBM Volunteering & Giving Portal.
- Once you reach the number of hours required to earn a badge, select IBMer Dashboard to start the badge process. Once you have done that, you will receive an email with the necessary steps to accept your badge.
Only current IBM employees and IBM retirees are eligible to earn badges.
Once you have accepted your badge, it will take approximately one (1) business day to receive your badge.
You will need to perform and record (see question 1) the following number of hours to be eligible for these badges:
- Bronze: 100 hours
- Silver: 250 hours
- Gold: 500 hours
- Platinum: 4,000 hours
Note: These are hours recorded for all time and are not limited to the current year.
