Potential categories

Environmental Sustainability

Projects that help humanity be more environmentally conscious and help reduce consumption and degradation of natural resources, and the effects climate change is having on our world and lives.

Health Concerns

Projects that help humanity combat pressing health issues, such as COVID-19, to support healthier lives and better quality of life.

Disaster Resiliency

Projects that help humanity prepare and respond to natural disasters, such as bush fires.

Competition overview

Competition launch & registration

Details of the competition will be announced and registration opens to gain access to online resources.


Project exploration, design, & build

Teachers facilitate student teams to learn about AI and apply their learning to a capstone project.


Submission deadline

Teams submit their final capstone projects for judging in the EdTech Youth Challenge.



Six (6) teams of teachers and their students will be selected as the final winners of the competition.


Awards ceremony

The top six (6) teams will be announced as winners of the competition during National Science Week.


The prize

Winning teams will have a week-long immersive experience with experts from IBM and our partners to implement their solutions.
